REFLEX- Stories About Gravity: A unique theatrical experience that builds an unlikely but beautiful relationship between the ambition of human space exploration and the art of juggling.

Jay Gilligan interweaves fascinating accounts of the Voyager Mission, Carl Sagan, and the Golden Record with spectacular experimental juggling sequences and stories from his 38-year career as he looks for his own place in the history of his craft. Through varied object manipulation techniques ranging from the ancient to the avant garde, Jay creates stunning soundscapes and vivid images that stir the sense of cosmic connection within all of us.

The show is performed in English suitable for the target age group. A study guide (in Swedish) will be sent before the performance which introduces the key words and events referenced in the show, and includes suggested talking points and activities related to both space exploration and the circus art of juggling.

This show has a modular and flexible set design and can be adjusted to fit most indoor spaces with a minimum performance area of 4m x 4m and a 3.2m ceiling height.

The show features highlighting light design that does not need a blackout and
can be done in normal ambient room light conditions.

Jay Gilligan is a professional juggler living in Stockholm, Sweden. He has given a command performance for the Queen of England, and has previously held 2 Guinness World Records for the most objects juggled. REFLEX originally premiered Off-
Broadway in New York City and has gone on to do a tour of USA. Most recently Jay has been awarded a 10 year artist support grant for his juggling innovations by Konstnärsnämnden.
